Ensuring Oxygen Access for Global Health Resilience

Oxygen Compression Systems: Bridging the Oxygen Gap in Low- and Middle Income Countries

From Hospitals Magazine,  January 2025

Access to medical oxygen is a critical healthcare priority, yet many facilities in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) face severe challenges in maintaining reliable supplies. As highlighted in a recent article by RIX Industries in Hospitals Magazine (pages 82-85), these facilities often depend on third-party suppliers for pre-filled oxygen cylinders, leaving them vulnerable to supply chain disruptions caused by environmental, political, or global crises. The article explores the transformative impact of onsite oxygen generation and cylinder-filling systems, which allow hospitals to build oxygen reserves and operate independently of external suppliers. By adopting such systems, healthcare facilities in LMICs can safeguard critical care units during power outages and emergencies, reducing reliance on fragile supply chains.

RIX Industries’ 2V3 Series oil-free compressors are designed to meet the demanding needs of medical applications. Capable of filling up to 60 high-pressure cylinders in a 24-hour period, these systems provide a reliable, sustainable way for facilities to ensure continuous oxygen access. These advanced oxygen compression systems deliver high-performance durability, easy maintenance, and adaptability to challenging environments.

To learn more about RIX’s innovative solutions for medical oxygen delivery, visit Stand H1.C30 in the USA Pavilion at the ARAB Health Show in Dubai from January 27-29. The team will be on hand to discuss how these technologies can support healthcare resilience and improve patient outcomes globally.
